I have a request for help making a MMA fight event poster, but unlike the cliche UFC poster with fighters crossing their arms with mean faces i'm seeking the services of someone who can help with something more artsy fartsy.

The subject, or theme is the main event of the next UFC with Demian Maia versus Anderson "The Spider" Silva. Maia is a 6-1 underdog I think, so the following picture is something I would like to work with..Obviously replacing Frodo with a fighter with some resemblance to Demian Maia, and subtracting the lifeless body at his feet.

Demian Maia

The style for the event info I would like to be similar to Pride FC/Dream does, this is the Pride 2006 GP poster.

This is the actual poster for the event.

Depending on your shoop skills, it doesn't have to be too laborious, but I would greatly appreciate help with this.

That fight will go one of two ways:

A) Silva will KO Maia in the first
B) Silva will toy with Maia for 5 rounds

Sorry no help with PS.

I will go with the 3rd option: Silva gets tripped up by Maia, mounted, and submitted in a triangle ala Maia versus Herman.

As much as I want Maia to win, and for someone to finally beat Silva, he seems to have misplaced his magic vial and sword. I suck at PS, but I like the idea. Think it would be a good poster. The Pride one, though, made me lawl.

I'm more interested in the Penn fight. He's been looking damn good these last two fights, best in his career. He finally seems to be taking the sport seriously. I figure if he can display the same skill and conditioning in this fight and beyond he's ready for another shot at GSP :D

I mean, really, Penn, GSP, Silva, Machida (if he defeats Shogun soundly) will just dominate their divisions for the foreseeable future. Super fights between the divisions we'll be some of the best challenges for these guys.

Actually, that is Samwise fighting the giant spider...Frodo is the body laying at their feet...geesh, and you call yourself a geek!!!

The photoshoping you're asking for is no small task. While it would be easy to remove Frodo's body, getting Sam to convincingly look like Demian would be tricky.

Hahaha well done Random, and yes i'm ashamed I made such a Nerdy faux pas, I will punish myself later. Norska, you're excited to actually see Edgar get destroyed. Would that have anything to do with the fact you're from HAWAII!!?? I've exposed you sir, no wonder you think BJ has a chance against GSP. ;) Maybe if he lathers himself in vaseline they can compete on even ground.

I messed with Random's pic in photoshop a bit and I think I improved it:

Psh... Hawaii only has like.. 90% to do with wanting to see BJ destroy people :D For me it's more of a stepping stone match for him, to see if he can maintain the discipline and conditioning he's achieved finally. I mean, come on he stuffed 27 take down attempts against Sanchez, he beat him so badly he's moving up to GSPs division :P

I just think if he can maintain his training at the level it's been, he'll have a chance of putting up a decent fight against GSP. The rematch was just pathetic :( 4 of his 5 loses have been when he moved up a weight division and his already crap cardio was just destroyed. Hell, he weighed a whopping 190 when he fought against Machida. But these last two fights he has had the most impressive cardio of his whole career.

Just want to say, I'm a HUGE fan of Frankie Edgar. I love that kid's attitude and the way he keeps improving every fight. Still, I don't think he has what it takes for BJ. BJ has been top level dudes look like silly amateurs. He's like at that Silva plateau of skill.

Speaking of which, I've *completely* lost faith that any current contenders can dethrone Silva. I can't even bother to hope for a Maia victory because I just don't have any more faith :(
