Default GW2: Mesmer Reveal, CBT starting

    http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-gam...ssions/mesmer/

Mesmers get clones. You can trick players with them, so they won't know who is the real you vs clones.
They also get phantasms, which don't look like them and deal damage in various ways.
Mantras: They have a long cast time (preparation time I guess), but once activated they become an insta-cast skill that can be used while casting another spell.
Confusion: A new condition that causes damage when you activate a skill. It stacks with itself, causing more damage with more applications.
Illusions (clones/phantasms) can be shattered in four different ways to cause various things.

They sound awesome to me. Love the clone idea.

Also, Closed Beta - truly closed to the public - will be starting this week at Arenanet.

/edit Rumors of a Thief update coming next week. Guess they might be changing them around a bit.

Cool, some good infos. Portals go 63 meters and allies can use them.
Phantasms can work like hexes, there's a backfire one that does damage when the target uses a skill.

Can't wait to play this game. Greatsword Guardian and Greatsword Mesmer, sounds too fun so much control.

2h Mesmer made my class choices real easy.
2h sword + colorful magic is how Veekz started on DDO.
    Axe/Shield warrior + 2h Mesmer. Good times.

Fair enough. I love Eve, but they don't let you blow up castles with Trebuchets.

Dark age of Camelot did and had fights that could go up to 1000+ people.

And it is not a coincidence that DaoC is one of our favorite games of all time.

GLOBAL COOLDOWN! UGH please no. I hate global cooldown with the passion of 1000 fiery suns. In fact attunement swapping is instant so you can do it mid cast!!!
Blog post coming Tuesday on thief also talks a bit about why we don't have global cooldowns and how our combat system works based on animations.

    Some other info:
Some traits will give you an effect that triggers when you dodge (Guardian gets aoe heal). Wonder if other classes have something like this?
Engineer gets an elixir gun set of skills that manage conditions. Like a cone aoe spray to remove/cause conditions. Sounds cool.

    -Mesmer-
The greatsword: Theirfirst Skill is the beam in the video and it does more damage the farther away your target is. Their second skill makes you roll back, leaving a clone that does the beam attack.
One heal skill will heals you and reflect damage.
Elite: Turn enemy into a Moa bird, making them use Moa attack skills.

I'm going to go ahead an link the Something Awful thread for GW2 because, as usual, the OP is an excellent summary of what we know so far.
