Default Anyone in the TSW beta?

I just got my invite today.

Okay. You two fucks need to go DIRECTLY to the top of the Kingsmouth map, to the bridge that seems to lead off the area. There are two scientists standing there. One of them is straight ouf of... I mean it is... the voice and everything... I think it's the actual actor doing the VO. Holy shit. o.o

I made a thread on the beta forms to correct his model lol... body needs a minor adjustment haha!

    Go check that shit out.

I just arrived in Kingsmouth but I am really underwhelmed by the game. Graphics and animations are poor IMO and the controls clunky. OTOH the forums are fully stocked with drooling idiot fanbois who go /stampyfeet and cry if you say anything critical about the game.

The initial gameplay videos made it look VERY clunky and unpolished in the animation, controls, and model department. The setting though is very compelling, and were I in the demo I'd at least check it out. I really don't understand the fanboys that spawn on every upcoming MMO game forum...I mean, really, it's beyond strange. Remember when you riled up those Vanguard folks so hard Brad McQuaid came over and argued with you?

Yeah the setting has MAJOR appeal, I just wish it could be pulled off by a more competent dev team. I loved Age of Conan's combat, but it was so bug riddled and there was very little to do at endgame. The setting for that was amazing too(Love Howard's works.)

Yeah, that was great, and all I did was call him an idiot on the Cats forum, that guy went berserk on their forums about it. All those years playing EQ and I never thought I'd get the chance to really tell McQuaid what I thought of him to his face, as it were.

In addition, the fanbois are shouting that IT'S ONLY THE BETA when the game goes live in 5 weeks and gold in less than that. If you complain about the graphics they yell that you have a crappy computer (for the record, my 3 or 4 year old XP box still runs every game I install at the absolute max settings).

Combat animations suck, in SWTOR my trooper turns to keep her rifle pointed at the target if she or it moves while shooting, in TSW the gunfire animation shoots sideways out of the barrel if the target is to the side. For an autocombat game it is really crude. Skin textures seem off, uneven and blotchy. Character appearance customization is limited, there seems to be only one body type, though you have a lot of eye/eyebrow/nose/lip options for the face. Supposedly character customization will be expanded.

Clothing textures are good, though, I like my bellbottom jeans.

I was really interested in the setting as I have been a conspiracy fan since I read the Illuminatus trilogy so I am going to go deeper and see more of the game, I keep hearing that the environments are really well done and visually compelling.

At least AoC had the best graphics of any MMO on the market and topless girls too!

Wait, that game is coming out in 5 weeks? Wow.

Pretty sad that we all want a different setting so bad. I wish there were a Rifts Mmo.

PRICELESS quote from the beta forums. Nothing NDA breaking.
TSW is going to be one of he best games out on the market. IF people want an easy, mindless free to to play game, then go and play GW2, because i like the how the TSW works so far from what i have seen. I love the game so far. No matter the game, it can always use improvements. I think people just want a F2P game, i hope TSW dose not go F2P. I want content to keep coming.

You can watch Chilled Chaos on YouTube. He has a video of about an hour of playing right from character creation.
