You can get the games at a huge discount, but is it worth it?

I played the first one. Didn't finish it all the way, but it was fun enough for a small price tag. It's open enough to have some fun sandboxy stuff and linear enough to help move you along iirc.
The Call of Priyapt or w/e is an -excellent- game and is the best version of the STALKER series. The previous ones, especially Clear Sky, are really prone to bugs and performance problems... they got the 3rd one right in this regard.
If you want a sandbox shooter singleplayer, it is absolutely worth it. Love love love that game. I believe it still has a very active mod community as well. If it's only a few bucks, I would say it's a must-buy if you are into the idea of the game.
If you only play one, play #3. If you buy all three, I doubt you'll play through them all - they're the same game with diff stories and more features/polish as the series progressed, so I could see ya beating the first one and running out of steam somewhere in Clear Sky.

Thanks for the 411 man!
I loved the first, never played the others though, did plan on buying them someday.
Well the really good one is 3.74 right now
I felt like the first one was a little light. It felt like an MMO sometimes when I'd end up using the same type of gun over and over or walking for miles for a pile of the same ration types I'd been finding. It picks up well near the end, but too little too late IMO. The story is good, but you'll see the major plot twist coming a mile away.
If you're in it for the story, play them all.
If you want a shooter game as a distraction from online stuff then see Drac's post.

Far cry 2?
It looks like a fun sand box, and is on drake for 2.49 on steam.
Really, why? The metascore wasn't too bad...
How is shooting africans not fun?
Far Cry 2 is an ok game, I played through most of it, it just gets very repetitive and there isn't enough variety in weapons to keep you interested in running these missions over and over, cause you know you're only working on the mediocre storyline and not taking chances at finding an awesome payoff.
It's an ok shooter, but that's about it. Some neat environments and map design, but you'll spend most of your time driving around running missions that feel too similar a lot of times.
I would say it's worth the sale price. STALKER is 10 times better, though.
