Thread: The Rapture of Gaming

Sea of sorrows is the unofficial Oceania server, likely to be crowded and I'm not sure about general teammate latency. Maguum I think was pretty loaded, wasn't it Grave? Did you WvW at all? Zoobi is sure to pick a big server too.

See, I was thinking just wait until 3-5 days before head start and see what everything is looking like. I'll WvW, but it's not that important to me. If everyone else leans towards a high pop server that's ok, I can go lower pop and PvE with everyone still. Hopefully.

Ok what about tarnished coast? Its supposed to be an unofficial rp server, those always draw a better crowd.

Sorrow's Furnace it is, have a huge crowd of people that I've gamed with over the years playing there. Going to have a guild of 30+ right off the bat.

Tarnished is plausible unless it's too RP, yuck. Not sure if you'll have good WvW with the RP server...? There's also Scavenger’s Causeway, Steamspur Mountains, Borlis Pass, and Sanctum of Rall (my beta server, which seemed just fine). Those were at least the less desired servers by larger communities going into beta 2.

    Lets do Sanctum of Rall!

It sounds just like the server I used on Swtor.

ANet has said that the current list of beta servers is expected to be the list of servers at launch (but of course they are ready to deploy new servers as needed).

I'm not actually beta'ing on Maguuma, but yes it is going to be hella crowded. A word of warning though, I'm currently on Sanctum of Rall and the current population seems pretty bad at WvW (based on results, not active participation on my part).

My playing times should be late evening OZ for most of the time. Does anyone here expect to be online mid morning (EST) or early afternoon (UK)?

If not I'll be either going for the Oceania server or the RP one.

    Two new arena net posts.
1: Stress test tomorrow (wednesday) from Noon to 4pm PST!
    2: Server list at launch.

The main guild on Rall is rather casual, but does PvP. They said they plan on being late bloomers in WvW. They also try to hold in game events for the server community. I'd be happy going with them.

That sounds like it's early morning for me Andile - so probably not.

Do they have forums up running (Arenanet, I mean)? Every time I hit the link to the forums, I get a page that says "Guild Wars2 Forum" on the top, nothing beneath it and "Learn more about the forums" links and announcements on the right column. I use SRWare Iron as my main browser. Tried switching to IE just to see if it was a bug on SRWare but no good either.

The forums are fully functional, but they take them down in between tests so that they aren't flooded with useless posts.

Do they not have an official RP server? Those are usually my favorite, just because there are a lot less people named Legolaas Ragebottom

Thanks. Shame though as I'd rather read through useless posts in the official forums...

Hey now, that's half of the fun.

It sort of already looks like we are going different ways :P

Sanctum sounds fine to me. I am a casual player anyways, with an only moderate interest in pvp. Every now and then I'll go through a hardcore pvp phase, but it is not at the top of my list for GW2. If Sanctum sucks at pvp, hopefully the rankings will allow them to pair us with other servers that suck.

So is it official? Everyone ok with Sanctum? (Besides Zoobi and Graveworm of course)

According to this, Santum of Rall might be a nice middle of the road server after all.
