    At Midnight it's on! Actually they said it could be up 3 hours earlier... so watch for it. I think we should compile some last minute infos here.

    0. Some of us are going to Sanctum of Rall. Eventually you can PvE with us even if you're not on it. We will have a cross server Catacombs guild, you can drop your characters name here if you're lazy and want me to invite you. You need to choose to represent the guild on the guild tab on each character or you won't be in it.

    1. Once you make a character, the name is saved to your account for 24 hours. If you're worried someone will take your name, quickly make characters then delete them and take your time customizing.

    2. HOM reward (GW1-linked accounts only) stone and preorder stuff should automatically be in your inventory.

    3. Remember you can right click anything and sell it on the market at any time. You can choose to send all crafting mats back to your bank as well (top right button in inventory). You can also access your bank at any crafting station. Mats will be the best way to make money, if you want to try and stockpile some gems early . Keep in mind you need 10s at level 11(?) for traits.

    4. Rare mats make sigils (goes into the equipment slot), which are yummy. At first just use basic gems for upgrading equipment, or don't... they aren't easy to remove (you buy an expensive salvage kit and then pray). Also, the mystic forge in Lion's Arch can upgrade materials to their next tier. Tier 2 makes level 25 stuff.

    5. If you keep dying to big attacks, get more vitality. It gives tons of HP. Also, you can farm green items around level 15 if you find the big events in the first zone. Those greens can give you good stats and can have cool mods, like randomly summoning a bird to do a quick attack against an enemy.

    6. Buy basic gathering tools asap and consider salvaging equipment you don't need for mats (leather/cloth can't be harvested). There are no skills related to gathering and it gives good xp, so do it! You need more expensive tools for higher tiers of mats. You can usually find a harvest/salvage item merchant in convenient places.

    gw2db.com has crafting recipes, which can help you find cheaper ways to level up a craft. Most of it is really straight forward without looking anything up, but there are a few useful odd recipes sometimes.

    I was thinking it will say CATS.

    6. By gathering and salvage equipment as soon as you can. There are no gathering skills, anyone can do it with tbe tools. Gathering gives you a bunch of exp, and like Taolas said, you can mail it to your bank from anywhere.

    Is anyone going to play on Sorrow's Furnace or are most of us going to Sanctum of Rall?
    My other gaming group is not really talking about the server anymore. They just left it up in the air.

    I think Zoobi will be on SF. Tbh, Sanctum is looking perfect. Moderate pop, and most are self classified as "casual".

    I'm not sure if they will give a good heads up about free server transfers ending, but you probably have enough time to start on either server and see how it goes, then change for free.

    CATS it is. Remember that we get guild points we can buy stuff with IF your characters are representing the guild. I'm guessing guild storage first might be nice, but we'll talk about it in game.

    Next question for people playing right as the game comes up: Do we want to roll through the same starting zone together? The ones I'm not thrilled about starting in are Sylvari and Norn. We also have to do personal story stuff, but can always split up after awhile to run them (it takes a long time to do them all in a group, but some have awesome group participation).

    Alright. I'll make my main on Sanctum of Rall with CATA. At least you guys give me a straight answer. I'll do an alt on SF later.

    Thank you for mentioning that, cause I had no idea you could do that. Do you happen to have a source for that, though? It's the first time I've seen someone say that, so I'd like to make quite sure before snagging/releasing my main character name, which is usually hellishly hard to get in MMOs.

    edit: Nevermind, found plenty of sources. Cool.

    I'm heading to Northern Shiverpeaks with an Australian guild. This server seems to have gone from low pop to having a two large alliances. It was full during the last stress test so we will see how it goes.

    Vkhaun, you can only have one home server. All your characters willbe on that server.

    Taolas, ironically those are my two favorite starting zones. Though I'm pretty sure my main will be a Charr Necromancer, Engineer, or Ranger. Definitely Charr. How does that zone doing for starting?

    And you can PvE/PvP with anyone you want from any server right? Except for WvWvW of course.

    Yeah, once they put guesting in you'll be able to PvE with anyone. Also, if your peeps go to another server you can still be in both of our guilds.

    Been awhile since I've been in the Charr area, so that's cool with me. Unless I decide to try my Charr mesmer right away (possible), I'll be an Asura Engi (yay jump shot!). If I get bored of that I can always switch to an Ele whenever. If anyone wants to join us: find the teleport to lion's arch in your main city zone and dive in, it's a purple swirl on the map. Snag a waypoint there for later (though it's costly to use it) and then go through the portal with charr in front of it, it's all free. I might scour the Rata Sum area for polymock before doing any PvE...

    VK, was that a vote for a CATA tag instead of a CATS tag?

    Now I just need to decide on a name for my gothic human Ele.

    Yeah, assuming I'm invited to the catacombs guild, I would rather see the tag CATA.

    Cats or cata, it doesn't matter to me. I'm going to be in the chix along with everyone here for when release starts!!

    Though I'm starting to think I might be a Sylvari instead

    LOL 5 hours after the servers come up Zavon will exit the character creator and go to bed. Accept you'll be alt-hopping for awhile, like me, and then just enjoy the start with whatever class might sound good.

    The only area I didn't completely explore was Sylvari... but I didn't love the layout of the area and stuff. It has an awesome underwater puzzle and a cool jump puzzle that is HARD and needs a few people to help with enemies. I did get all the skill points in the area though.

    I guess CATA it is.

    Yes, and after you get to the top, you jump down into an area with mortars on leaf platforms you have to climb up and the puzzle/exploration continues -- the hard part.

    To add to your torment: Have you thought about which crafting professions you'll start with? Doubt we'll have the mats to do more than two to start. I want jeweling/huntsman, but they both need tons of copper... only have one medium armor class in mind to start with, so crafting armor isn't a big deal... hum.

    I did one jumping puzzle but there were no mortars. If I make a necro or mesmer, ill go tailor and artificer.

    It's just not obvious the tree puzzle continues onward. I think. Oh yeah we want to be able to craft bags for ourselves. Meh, I'll probably just bug you guys for bag crafting.
