I managed to find a great SG on Justice back in June and I've been hooked again ever since. I never really even stopped playing, but I wasn't as dedicated for a couple years there. I was finally getting incarnate toons and looked forward to playing with the people in my SG. I just want to cry. Boo.

That's a bummer. I never really could really get into CoH, not sure why, but there's something slightly sad about knowing it's going away forever.

That's sad... even with D3 and GW2, I was still checking into CoH from time to time. I can't believe they're not at least leaving like one server up for people to keep playing around with it.

I don't even understand the logic behind it. There are several servers that during major events are so jammed with people that you can barely get on... It just doesn't even make sense. It still has a large fanbase that plays regularly.

But are they jammed with subs or jammed with freemiums?

Always sucks to see another MMO bite the dust. I often wonder how misplaced my faith in LotRO and it's F2P system might be because of cases like this.

I think this is the saddest I've ever been to see a game shut down. To think how little MMOs have progressed since 8 years ago...

Reading around, the closure seems rather suspicious. "In a realignment of company focus and publishing support, NCsoft has made the decision to close Paragon Studios."...Weren't there murmurs of Paragon Studios making a new MMO for NCSoft? And as Smee says, the game sounds like it's fairly healthy.

Come to think of it, the only other game I've been sad to see go was Exteel, which was another NCSoft title. That's something I'll give to SoE...They keep their games active, even when they're dead (I doubt Planetside's population even compares to the amount of people that were still playing CoH).

And to wait until the GW2 launch to announce this is kind of cynical, too. I can see some ex-paragon employee "reavealing all" about some serious clusterfuck at NCSoft in a few months time.
It's going to be a fine day tomorrow. We will have salad...

Well, thing about Planetside players is, they all have to pay to play. Though honestly, since pretty much all Planetside players got into the PS2 beta, I imagine that game is a ghost town now even if the sequel blows.

If we didn't know that, he'd be banned already lol.
Googled his registered e-mail and got the picture before I saw his other post.
