kgbgreel from KF is playing and wants me to get it. I've got CS:GO, PS2, BL2, GW2, I miss LoL, and honestly I'm still interested in D3.

When I get off Monday morning I'll have off until the 5th of next month, so with all that free time on my hands I may break down and get it if he or someone else actually invites me to play co-op on a new character, but probably wouldn't on my own.

Is Torchlight 2 out already? Isn't it like 20 bucks?

Yes, yes it is, and worth every penny, or twice to three times as many pennies, but they are awesome like that so it's $20.

That's what I was thinking and this one has multi-player too. I paid like 15 bucks for the first TL on Xbox Arcade and got more fun/use out of it than I have a lot of the 60 buck releases.

    EDIT:

So what is the deal with PerfectWorld? I noticed they're associated with TL now, and Champions Online as well. Is that some kind of online service, a corp that is buying up some of these producers or what is PW?

Perfect World is a company that does a lot of f2p mmos, mostly asian grinders as far as I know, but also the new NWN (in production allegedly) and Champions.

Full points in Prismatic Bolts, Burning Pillars, Charge Mastery and Fire Brand.
    Five points in Elemental Attunement.
Three points in Prismatic Rift (optional).
One point in Frost Phase, Ice Brand, and Lightning Brand.

Dump everything into Focus, raising Vitality anytime you start getting one-shot. Prismatic Bolts eventually hits an absurd 15-20% chance to affect an enemy with every status ailment per bolt, plus about 160 damage. Once the ailments are up, they won't fall off thanks to Elemental Attunement increasing their duration to around 7-8s, and each bolt that impacts after that will proc every Brand for an additional 200-600 damage each. Use Blazing Pillars on cooldown to keep burning on everything, as well as fill your charge bar with almost every cast, offsetting Prismatic Bolts' mana hunger. At this point, your Embermage will blow up everything before it even gets close to him, and can always teleport away if it does. Even if you get hit, you have a 30% chance to teleport the offender across the screen, where it'll quickly get cut down by your swarm of homing missles flying everywhere.

Bonus: None of your spells are reliant on weapon DPS, meaning you can pick up two Suicide Wands for +40% damage and never have to upgrade them. The only downside of this is you can't use Staff Mastery to punch through elemental armor, but you'll be doing so much damage it won't matter.

That's one way of doing it. I'm doing 2/3 of the vitality I have in focus. So, 100 vit when at 150 focus. One of my prior less experienced incarnations did prismatic bolts. This one though, is fire based.

Magma Spear (Maxed), Infernal Collapse (Maxed), Immolation Aura (Maxed), Firestorm (Maxed), Charge Mastery (Maxed), Elemental Attunement (Maxed), Fire Brand (Maxed), 1 point in Frost Phase.

I open with firestorm which sets everything on fire and makes it super fire vulnerable. Then I weave spears and collapses together. The aura is for extra damage soak, teleport is for escaping. I can do upwards of 6000 damage in 2 clicks with firestorm/infernal collapse @ level 48. Due to fame I might end up with extra points, and I'm not sure whether to go Elemental Boon, Wand Chaos, or Astral Ally. Leaning towards Wand Chaos.

There is definitely room for a ton of different builds even excluding stuff opened up by having nice equipment. Not sure whether I will do ice or lightning when I have this where I want it.

Edit: off to paste this in the BL2 thread.

What's with the pets? Do we keep the one we start with or can we trade up?

You keep the starting one and can feed it items to change it. For instance, feeding it a Crab Egg will change it into a crab that has much higher health and armor, while giving it a Vampiric Spider Egg will transform it into a quick spider that steals health and transfers it to you. Most of the items are 5-15m duration, but a few rare ones can last forever.
