M$ education
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en...-overview.aspx
Holy SHIT there are a lot of certs here. You can follow the links down to finding classes, paying for e-classes, or buying self-help books for so many different things...
I guess my problem is that I don't really get what I would do with these. I know about technical fields only from the client end. I understand 'I.T'' and helpdesk type positions supporting people like me with user accounts and security, maintaining networks, and things like that. But then how does that connect with something like a database educational background?
I get that SQL is their program. Getting that set of certs means that I would be -assuming the other background is there- desirable to a company using SQL. I understand the basics of what a database is from looking into what SQL is, but I don't come up with any verbs here, only nouns. What would a person with M$ SQL certs actually DO from nine to five at their job?
I'm not the type to be motivated by money or some end goal I want to reach, I am just too simple for all that. I am motivated by trying to just set up a life where I enjoy going to work and thinking for a living using computers in a nice air conditioned office (or from home?). I don't want to go through all the time and expense of earning some certification then find out what I would use it for is boring or procedural.
