Default Is using a mouse and keyboard to play on a console cheating?

Is using a mouse and keyboard to play on a console cheating? The only console I ever played was an Atari in 1982 and it only had a single joystick with one button.

Im gonna say yes. Its a definite advantage. I know its supposedly a huge problem in Overwatch on the console and IIRC Blizzard came out and said they consider it cheating.

It's the law of the jungle with Silly, even if he does have faith. I think he's principled, just not merciful." - Zavon

Yeah but that's like saying your legs are an advantage over a wheelchair. The issue here is that the controller's thumbstick is an unnecessary and unjustified handicap on input. Blizzard just can't take a reasonable position because they're partnered with console companies.

As everything has become just a computer with standardized hardware and software, the form factor of things like disks, cards and controllers is really the only thing left giving the console companies an identity other than shitty computer companies that force tons of restrictions and bloatware on you and the companies that make games.

Nowadays when people start to get killed by fireballs, no one says they need to dodge the fireball anymore; they say they need to go get a fire resist ring and some ice damage so they don't have to.

True but one of the things I always enjoyed about console was the ability to sit back on the couch and just hold a controller and be on an even playing field. Having to use a mouse and keyboard will take away that aspect of it and mean I'll have to have a desk or large flat surface to balance on my lap to play with. Which would pretty much kill any reason to play on console for me. I honestly have no idea why someone who prefers a mouse/keyboard when playing console would be playing console anyway. PC is way better if you're going to use the kb/mouse set up if for no other reason than the customization of the game though skins, UIs, mods, etc.

The steam controller and Steam Overlay UI really address this issue, and IIRC they are actually making steam machines.
