The whole discussion was fairly entertaining, but this moment floored me because of what it is.

I didn't watch the video (at work, and I'll probably forget to later) but here is a link I started reading about Economic Fascism and I was not impressed.

It (historically) essentially gives more power to the federal government over economic policies/coordination. There are some nuances and certain parts that would/could be beneficial but the whole Business / Government partnership seems to be just an even more corruptible version of what we have today with 'captured agencies'.

National Socialism (or Hiter's version of fascism) was IMO far superior to Mussolini's version. It was very schizophrenic in many ways, but the central gist is thus:
    • Corporations act in the best interests of the people of the nation or get fucked
    • Corporations should strive to meet the dictates of the regime

For example, Volkswagen exists because Hitler demanded that german industry develop a car for everyone (all the folk = volk), eg. Volkswagen. This is also where the first interstate system came from (autobahn). That was assuredly a large (socialistic) project and was one of the ways Hitler fulfilled his promise of Total German Employment. Infrastructure and natural resources are to be nationalized under National Socialism. Everything else should be free market, but with the constraint that if those companies don't act in the best interests of the nation, they will get right wing death squad-ed.

Nowadays when people start to get killed by fireballs, no one says they need to dodge the fireball anymore; they say they need to go get a fire resist ring and some ice damage so they don't have to.
