We'll be looking at stuff at least 150 miles away from any of these problematic population centers when we assess moving locations heading into next year.

What do you think of this thing?

No parallax = the triangle is always the point of aim at any angle (still subject to range/zero ofc) and no batteries required. It's not see-through though. It's like the bastard child of a red dot and some big ass irons.
Nowadays when people start to get killed by fireballs, no one says they need to dodge the fireball anymore; they say they need to go get a fire resist ring and some ice damage so they don't have to.

Weird... but I love the red dot. Too many vidya games, it's the most natural to me.

These were on sale for $44 before. The standard price has now been lowered to $47, if anyone was interested.

Looking at the Bushnell site and Amazon, the one-piece tall version is completely gone. There's now a "high rise" version that is just the low one with a riser. They're probably phasing out the two models/SKU's and will eventually just sell the high rise as just the only version that "comes with a riser" so this is liquidation of the old boxes without risers I guess.

There's also something that looks identical, called a TRS-26 from another company. That's 86% off right now at $22. Not sure if it's a knockoff or what. Bushnell makes a TRS-26 as well but it doesn't look like the TRS-25...

This is the next optic I want.

Then I'll work on saving for this one.

It'll take me awhile to save up for it.

I'm determined to one day have some sick HD thermal shit on my rifle. It would be wasted on me right now since my fundamentals are shit but I can't even afford the guns yet anyway, nevermind more optics. Once I've got them though, I'm starting a savings account (or might even get a loan/credit card for it...) to get something like this. The old Predator movies put the idea in my head as a little kid and I never let it go.

Right, you need to have the "muh rifle" before you go throwing some overpriced optics with 16 hours of battery life on there. I'd only want the type of Optic you linked if I was taking up life as a professional sniper or *something*.

Ordering some AR customizations this week. Since I can't afford that snazzy SASS yet. Hopefully Aeinna's shotgun comes off back-order.

I've got the money and the time next week. I've got my locking case being delivered today. I'm out of excuses. I'm out of alternatives to consider. Barring any unforeseen problems I'm going to go try to purchase either an RDB or a KSG next week. I'd like to get the RDB but I'm not sure they'll have one just on a rack somewhere. If that needs to be ordered but they have a KSG on hand, I'll just take the KSG. I want both and a pistol eventually anyway.

Hell yeah. Love the KDB but that KSG is kinda "taciticool" overkill - pretty fucking nice that it holds 12+1 12 gauge shells though. I can see why you'd grab it in your situation. Shit ever goes bad you're gonna be in a nogpocalypse.

Best part about the RDB is it uses standard AR-15 magazines, so all those 30RD Magpul magazines I have pre-loaded could be put to more use - now I want one eventually. Always loved the bullpup design. Put a decent red dot or reflex sight on there...

What I ordered today to further customize the AR.

<---this replaces the Vortex I mentioned above. Was on sale and I watched quite a few reviews. Thing is a tank, takes a standard AA battery, and has like 5 years of battery life so it never needs to be turned off.

Will add this and a 2 point tactical sling later to complete my budget friendly AR.

You should consider driving over to VA to pick up your shit. Your state gun laws really are terrible and it'll be costly and slow to even be able to get your gun transferred.

So, I just ordered another 13 lbs of .556 NATO. AR is completely done (sling and all) - Shotgun is acquired, a small bit of shotgun ammo acquired (Expensive as fuck). Time to focus on Sidearms.

Unable to choose between 9mm Luger and 45 ACP. Leaning towards 9mm because the ammo doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

    9mm

    45 ACP
    https://www.midwayusa.com/product/82...-polymer-black

The thing that makes the 45 ACP still have some allure is the fact that I'd love to have one of these eventually. It's just always been one of my favorite guns.

    Ever get anything VK?

Side Note: The Viking Tactical sling was way worth the purchase.

No. Coworker is out and I've just been working like every day. I technically had off three nights the other week, but I just zonked out for two of them and then I had a ton of shit to do on the last day.

Not happening this week. Was planning to sign a lease and move in one of a few places but all the apartments I looked at and talked to suddenly pulled this shit about income or age restrictions when I got there. Three times today someone has looked at me like "Well you have to check on our website..." and I'm like BITCH I DID ALL MY RESEARCH ONLINE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN 2018 THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT THIS CRAP ON YOUR WEBSITE. I specifically ruled out all the ones with restrictions I didn't meet, that actually told me about the restrictions. It should be required by law that they put that stuff in their title instead of all these stupid nondescript, inapplicable nature words they use for everything. I've been to like eight "cove" and "forest" places today and haven't seen any water or treelines without buildings behind them.

    /rantyblog off

    *shakes fist*

After being up 20hrs I almost signed a lease $100 more expensive than I wanted per month with a floorplan I hated in a place I hadn't scouted... just had to stop and call it a day before I did something dumb.

Do some more clicking around tonight and get something in the morning.

Sounds aggravating as fuck. But nothing a shotgun couldn't fix?

Have you fired one lately? When I went to try stuff out I was really blown away by how hard it was to shoot a pistol. I have a whole new respect for people who can mag dump at 50yrds and keep them close to center. I couldn't even get "groups" firing three shots at a time my first trip. Rifles and shotguns were just so much easier. There was a Walther kit that's optics ready and threaded for like $650 I had my eye on as plan B if I didn't like the rifle/shotgun, but there was just no way. The effort it would take to make that a decent defense was just too high for the time I have available.

If I had like a Hickock 45 setup and could shoot daily in my back yard, hell yeah, but for an apt/house and going to a range? That's a stretch. 9mm for sure, for cost of practice.

I've actually been looking at a Walther, and you're right on the handguns. It requires much more practice than rifle and vastly more practice than a shotgun.

    Nice. Ty.

Yeah, KSG went back to top of the list when I picked my apt. Tiny tiny tiny. It's like on the large end of a studio/small end of a 1br, but it's divided into a bunch of sections. KSG is the tool I need if something bad happens.

I should be moving in this week and there's an FFL literally two turns from my door and it's on the right side of the road on the way to work.

The only downsides I saw on the KSG (tons of videos) was that it's a bit awkward to reload, and apparently it beats the fuck out of your arm (with hot shells) while you're shooting it unless you have thin ladylike arms. Several videos on the topic.

There are things you can add aftermarket like the below to address it.
